As
you may now be aware, SGS has decided to cease its wool testing
operations in Bradford from 10th September 2007 as a result of
continuing long term decline in wool testing revenues in the UK and
European markets.
Subsequent
to this decision, an agreement was reached with Wool Testing
Authority Europe (WTAE) for WTAE to take on SGS Bradford’s
contractual responsibilities. In return, SGS has agreed to sell
certain wool testing equipment to WTAE to enable increased capacity
in the Caernarfon Laboratory.
WTAE
welcomes new customers and looks forward to continuing to provide
wool testing services to its existing customers. We would like to
take this opportunity to reassure those in the wool trade that our
commitment to 1st class testing and service remain
unchanged and that the levels integrity upon the company were
founded remain unchallenged.
Wool
Testing Authority Europe, is a fully independent wool testing
laboratory with offices in Bradford and North Wales, and a growing
sampling capability across Europe. WTAE is licensed by the
International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO), participates in the
Independent Laboratory Round Trial (ILRT) programme and is an active
member of the Interwool Labs group.
